Explore our five disciplines and orientations for the next CINARS Biennale

Contemporary Puppetry and Object Theatre

We will celebrate the vitality of contemporary puppetry and object theatre, where gesture, material, and light meet technology and emotion. These works, bridging visual theatre and performance, reveal the poetic power of the object on stage and its ability to reshape how we see the world.

This edition will highlight artistic approaches that reinvent the spectator’s experience, embracing immersion, live manipulation, shifts of scale, and tactile storytelling. Its aim is to offer an international showcase for a generation of artists who, through the language of the object, question our relationship to the world and open new pathways for contemporary performance.

Indisciplinary music

Highlighting classical, jazz, current, experimental, contemporary, and world music forms that are serious, surprising, or even unruly. Inclusive concerts where the hybridity of forms surprises, offering music with multiple influences and inspiring creations.

Contemporary circus

Through its acrobatic, aerial, balancing, object manipulation, and clowning acts, circus art embodies physical virtuosity and the poetry of movement. The circus, in all its contemporary and street forms, expresses a universal language accessible to all audiences. It reflects the spirit of openness, daring, and humanism that drives the Biennale.

Theatre and new writings

In addition to theater, it is essential to make room for new forms of writing. Welcome to interdisciplinary approaches, crossovers between practices, and hybrid aesthetics that are reshaping the landscape of the performing arts.

Contemporary dance

Dance is a major pillar of the CINARS Biennale program. Whether contemporary, neoclassical, or urban, it reflects the diversity of body language and emotions. It pushes aesthetic and cultural boundaries and embodies the universal dialogue between artists and audiences around the world.

Reveal contemporary artistic voices in their entirety

More than ever, the CINARS Biennial presents comprehensive works in dance, circus arts, theatre, music, and interdisciplinary arts, ranging from intimate venues to large-scale stages. Fiery works that disrupt, challenge, advocate, unsettle, or express themselves with great delicacy.

Marvel at youth performances

The vitality and quality of productions aimed at young audiences and families set them apart. This art showcases dazzling artistic approaches across all disciplines

Foster diverse networking

Welcoming a plurality of voices, provoking unexpected encounters, putting forward new conference formats, and delving deeper into the challenges facing our economy and professional exchanges.
