Artistic Direction: Thomas Hellman
Singersongwriter and raconteur Thomas Hellman revisits Greek mythology in his own unique way. He tells stories, sings songs, and plays characters. The stories are interspersed with folk songs, original compositions, and archival recordings drawn from Quebec’s oral tradition. Combining theatrical and musical performance with storytelling, Mythomania is about the creation of the universe, the birth of the gods and humans, the arrival of the first aoidos, wandering poet and guardian of memory. It’s a reflection on creation, a celebration of the human word through millennia.

“Life and death, words, and bodies come together in this vast journey back through
the history of humanity, from the creation of the Universe to our relationship with
time, travelling along the blurred paths of Greek mythology… A brilliantly written
work shedding light on a time that transcends time itself.” Jean-François Nadeau (Le
Devoir)
