The production is freely based on the famous Don Quixote of la Mancha novel and revives a tradition that is essentially based on clowning. Set in a playhouse, clown by trade Rod at the service of director Mr. Jacques and actor Tom quite unexpectedly meet Sancho Panza, Don Quixote’s faithful squire. Good-natured Sancho discovers he is destined to eternal life because author Miguel de Cervantes forgot to write an end for him. As a result, he is frustrated and fated to wander endlessly in literature. Despite many setbacks, Rod and Sancho will develop an unlikely yet true friendship.
