A true hymn to life, the 24 artists of Transcestral express the common and perpetual quest for harmony between man and nature, inspired by the music and sacred dances of sufi and indigenous traditions in Canada.
Joining composer and artistic director Katia Makdissi-Warren are Métis singer Moe Clark, inuit throat singer Nina Sgalowitz, Sufi singer Anouar Barrada, pow wow singers Buffalo Hat Singers (Norman Achneepineskum), dervish dancer Adam Berrada, Mohawk dancer Barbara Diabo and remarkable musicians including Didem Basar (kanun), Bertil Schulrabe (percussion) and Ziad Chbat (nay).
