Oktoecho aims to guide the listener into a sonic world brimming with lyricism found in the unique crossroads between the Middle Eastern, the Aboriginal and the Western cultures. Its goal is to bridge cultures that would otherwise never collide, which in turn improves the way people communicate and connect with each other. In their latest creation, OktoEcho explores something new : a multimedia experience centered around katajjaq, or inuit throat singing. It is an ode to the richness of the inuit artform, told through polyrythms from the Emirati deserts, flutes from Japan and Scandinavia, and ambient electronic music. Artists & production team: Nina Segalowitz, Hélène Martel, Lydia Etok, Katia Makdissi Warren, Eryk Warren, Michel Dubeau, Carla Antoun, Bertil Schulrabe, Sandy Lapierre, Patrick Darby
