At the core of the Cirque Alfonse is the family Carabinier-Lepine from the village of St-Alphonse-de-Rodriguez in rural Quebec. Since 2012 they have toured the world with their productions TIMBER and BARBU: Electro-trad Cabaret. Inspired by the village church that was the gathering place of their small community, Cirque Alfonse created their production, TABARNAK. Having the feel of something like a rock-musical, TABARNAK is an invitation to come together: a fiesta of circus, music and reaching for the sky. TABARNAK premiered at Montréal Complètement Cirque in 2017 and has already toured to Adelaide, Paris, Milan and Edinburgh and Mexico City.
