In order to acknowledge the outstanding work of those who have contributed to the development of international touring in the performing arts, CINARS presents three awards during its Biennale.
"PRIX DU CALQ" FOR BEST INTERNATIONAL TOUR:
The Prix du CALQ for Best International Tour is presented every two years to the Quebec organization that has distinguished itself through the exceptional quality of its touring outside Québec. The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) is pleased to offer a $10,000 grant to the recipient.
This Award was given to La Troupe DuBunker for its production Le NoShow (Canada - Québec).
AWARD FOR BEST INTERNATIONAL SHOW PRESENTER:
The Award for Best International Presenter is presented to a venue or festival programmer who has contributed the most to enhancing the international profile of artists and companies from Canada. The Canada Council for the Arts will offer a $10,000 grant to the recipient in order to facilitate the presence of Canadian artists on their territory over the next two years
This Award was given to Suzanne Walker de Sadler's Wells (United-Kingdom).
THE NATIONAL ARTS CENTRE AWARD:
The National Arts Centre Award honors exceptional achievement in fostering the touring of live performing arts in Canada. The National Arts Centre will offer a $2,500 grant to the recipient as well as a specially-designed exquisite porcelain sculpture by Paula Murray.
This Award was given to Paul Tanguay (Canada - Québec).
The Achievement Award is presented by CINARS to a person who has given outstanding support to the development of performing arts abroad.
This Award was given to Menno Plukker from Menno Plukker Theatre Agent Inc. (Canada - Québec)
